BBQ Boys win award for Best How-To Video!

We're over the moon about our recent award at the 39th Annual Houston International Film and Video Festival. The BBQ Boys: No Brainer BBQ Basics won the prestigious Platinum Award for Best How-To Video. Some of The BBQ Boys gang were on hand in Houston, deep in the heart of barbecue country we might add, to accept the award at a black tie gala dinner on April 29th.

The Houston WorldFest is the 3rd oldest film festival in North America and gave first honors to the likes of Spielberg, Lucas, Lynch, Ridley Scott, Ang Lee, the Coen Brothers, Robert Rodriguez and hundreds more. Wow, we should start working on the BBQ Boys movie!

The BBQ Boys are hosting Grillin' & Chillin' Week on Food Network USA

The BBQ Boys have hit the big time! From May 28th to June 4th, Scot & Craig are the official on-air hosts for a full week of back-to-back barbecuing programs to kick off the grillin' season. We recently taped all kinds of wacky commercials and a heap of promos that will be seen by Food Network's 90 million viewers - yikes! We'll think of all you little people when we're massive pop-culture icons.

Unfortunately, you can only see Grillin' & Chillin" Week in the US so for all our loyal Canadian fans we'll be placing some of the promos on our website soon. You can also check us out on Food Network's website at FoodNetwork.com.

BBQ BOYS At The Home & Garden Show

The BBQ Boys gang will be heating things up at the BC Home & Garden Show at BC Place in Vancouver from February 22nd to the 26th - come on down and check out our booth!

Scot McDonald, JD and various other maniacs from the show will be on hand to meet and greet, share barbecue horror stories and generally press some flesh. We'll have plenty of DVD's, t-shirts and other BBQ Boys merchandise to get you geared up for spring - if it ever comes!

Behind The Scenes At The BBQ BOYS!

During the shooting of No Brainer BBQ Basics, we had own, super exclusive "behind the scenes video crew" catching all the crazy shenanigans.

We've been looking at the footage and figured we can release a feature length docu-drama that examines the inner turmoil and personal journey of disconnected souls looking for meaning and purpose to human existence. Or, a three minute short hacked together with music and put onto our website. I think we're leaning to the one that involves less work.

Look for our behind the scenes special, "BBQ Boys: The Making of a Legend", coming to this site in March. In the meantime, here are a few shots of what went on behind the camera.

Coming Soon to TV!

The BBQ Boys will soon be splattered all over the TV screen in Vancouver. KVOS TV will be airing new BBQ Boys programs starting this August. Dates and times are being finalized right now but we'll keep you posted. But, it looks like you can look for us late on Saturday night – right after the sports highlights. Perfect!

We recently sent out some copies of the No Brainer BBQ Basics DVD to various food writers and critics around Vancouver. It was kind of like sending your kid off to school for the first time. Would they spank our poor little baby?

Spreading The Love

Scot & Craig have been busy spreading the BBQ Boys message all over the media the past few weeks. They've made live TV appearances on Global TV, City TV (in the pouring rain, but what the heck!), Urban Rush on Shaw TV and even did an autograph session at Johnstone's Barbecues in North Vancouver. Yes, people actually allowed them to sign their newly purchased DVD's – go figure.
BBQ Boys Launch Party

On May 26th, we officially launched the BBQ Boys into the world with a total blowout of a party at the Savory Coast restaurant in downtown Vancouver. The rain gave way to a perfect hot and sunny day and over 180 people filled the outdoor patio overlooking Robson Street. The martinis were flowing, a whole roast pig was on the menu (among a zillion other amazing dishes), the beer was ice cold, our DJ's kept the tracks coming, and we gave away some pretty cool prizes - a good time was had by all!
